Bolt anxious to meet world's best in Paris CMC

(Photo: Bryan Cummings)
BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC) -- Jamaica's young sprint sensations Usain Bolt, says he is anxious to tackle the world's best seniors at the 9th IAAF World Championship in Paris next month.
Fresh from his world record-equalling 200-metre run at the Pan Am Juniors last weekend, the 16-year-old believes the competition in Paris should force him to run a career-best time.
"I'll see what happens there with the big guys, I think they will push me a little harder to run faster," Bolt told reporters after winning the Pan Am Juniors 200-metre gold on Sunday night.
His time of 20.13 seconds tied American Roy Martin's 18-year-old World Junior (Under-20) record and lowered his own World Youth (Under-18) mark of 20.25 seconds.
The impressive run erased the previous meet record of 20.39, set in 1982 by Clinton Davis of the
US A.
Bolt did not speak of trying to win a medal at the August 23-31 World Championship in Paris, and said running his best ever time -- which would give him sole possession of the world record -- would satisfy him.
"If a break my personal record (there), I'll be proud of myself even if I don't make the finals," said Bolt, who is the reigning World Junior and World Youth champion over 200
metres.
The 6'5" phenomenon is also the current 400-metre world youth leader by almost a full second at 45.35 seconds, but he admitted he is not focusing on the one-lap event this summer.
"I'm just looking to my 200 metres because that's what I am going to go pro with, so I'm just worried about that right now," he said.
