JUSTICE IRA DeCORDOVA ROWE
BY ROVAN G. LOCKE
On Sunday evening, February 8, 2004, at the Holy Sacrament Episcopalian Church at University and Davie Road extension, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; there was only standing room as Jamaicans from ³all walks of life², other Caribbean residents in South Florida and members of the Church, came to celebrate the illustrious Life of the Legal Luminary, Justice Ira DeCordova Rowe.

EULOGY AT HOLY SACRAMENT
BY DAVID ROWE

When I received the information that my father had died suddenly in the Turks & Caicos Islands, I realized that a triumphant life had ended, as triumphant as the majestic music from the Battle Hymn of the Republic. I remembered the verse from the Battle Hymn of the Republic, one of Daddy¹s favorite hymns²He is wisdom to the mighty and succor to the brave,² succinctly described Ira DeCordova Rowe wise, mighty and brave, yet humble and Christian, the little black boy from Munro. Canon McDonald asked me if I knew the profound impact of my father on the law and church in Jamaica. I said ³Yes Cannon²; let me share a few of my thoughts.

ATLANTA BASED ONE HUNDRED BLACK MEN OF AMERICA RE-IGNITES ITS FORT LAUDERDALE CHAPTER
l
BY ENTERTAINMENT WRITER
For the first time in South Florida, there has been a sincere effort by Black professionals to work for a larger goal rather than allow their ethnocentric biases to keep them apart. The relaunching of the once controversial laden 100 Black Men of Fort Lauderdale Chapter saw the abundance of Black expertise which exceeded the expectations of the planners of this awesome event in the promenade of the Hyatt Hotel/Pier 66, a few weeks ago.

Elections: A Necessary But Insufficient Condition
For Constitutional Order
In the representative democracies of free societies, as is found in the United
States of America, elections lead to the legitimate exercise of political power
as prescribed by the constitution. When elected leaders choose to act in
violation of constitutional dictates, a constitutional crisis ensues that is
normally resolved peacefully by a process, also enshrined in the constitution,
to be carried out by specific institutions. Of course, all of us remember the
impeachment of U.S. president Richard Nixon as a case in point.

Setting the Record Straight
By Alex Fekete
As Mayor, I¹ve had the privilege of getting to know many of the great people
and places in Pembroke Pines, and have been fortunate to be involved in making
our City a wonderful place to live. We¹ve grown a lot over the years, and my
top priority has always been to manage that growth with a common sense approach
that provides for the needs of open space, recreational and shopping
opportunities, economic stimulations, a stable tax base, and rising property
values.
