            The hierarchy of the NAACP has belatedly recognized the seismic impact of Caribbean immigrants on the American political landscape.  A central theme of the 94th NAACP National Convention, July 10-17, 2003, held at the Miami Beach Convention Center was developing a strategic alliance with Caricomıs Heads of State on matters of trade, immigration, and education.

The Installation luncheon ceremonies on Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at the Sheraton Airport Hotel, Dania, Florida saw the transfer of the torch of Leadership in the South Florida Realist Womenıs Council. After a two year term, the Trinidadian-American Ms. Ann John-Latimer has been elected as the President of the Women Council within the 7,000 membership National Association of Real Estate Brokers Inc.

Bahamian Prime Minister Celebrates 30th Independence Anniversary

More than two thousand Bahamians and their friends were in a festive mood on Saturday night, July 19th, 2003 at the Broward County Convention Center, Downtown Ft. Lauderdale. There were in their ³finest threads and dresses² to participate in the 30th Anniversary of Bahamian Independence and to be in the company of the newly elected Prime Minister Honorable Perry Christie.
