The well-attired guests at the Pearl of Fort Lauderdale Lodge N019, Annual Dinner Dance on Saturday night, June 14, 2003, were caught off guard by the stinging address by Broward County Commissioner, Josephus Eggelletion. Certainly, no one seated in the main hall of the Lauderdale Lakes Municipal Complex expected such a penetrative analyses on Black’s political apathy and the deleterious effects on empowerment for this ethnic group in the County and the rest of the country.

What comes to your mind when you see the word BAR? Drinks? Beer? Whiskey? Rum? Or does the legal profession come to mind, where Lawyers are called to the bar. For many a bar is a five feet length of one-inch steel used to bore holes in huge rocks readying them for blasting. These were manually used prior to the era of the mobile air compressor. Alongside this we have the crow bar, a kind of lever used for moving objects. Someone once said, “ Give me a bar (lever) long enough and I will move the world.” In either case, whether bursting up huge rocks or leveraging heavy machinery and loads, a BAR is an indispensable ally. After 15 years looking at the sign BAR realtor, we must conclude that this interpretation of Bar has to be the most appropriate to compare to Barrington Anthony Russell and his company BAR REALTOR.
