Monday in the West Indies 14-man squad to face Sri Lanka in the first Cable & Wireless Test match at St. Lucia’s Beausejour Stadium starting Friday.
Taylor, who will turn 19 years-old on Sunday, is one of three changes to the squad the West Indies entered the fourth and final Cable & Wireless Test with against Australia last month in Antigua.
Seam bowler Corey Collymore and batsman Wavell Hinds have been recalled, while Tino Best and the injured Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Jermaine Lawson, who were all in the Antigua 14, are not included.
Taylor bowled impressively in his international debut for the West Indies last Wednesday when he picked up two for 39 off 10 overs in the third One-Day International (ODI) in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
He returned on Sunday with an efficient spell, taking two for 22 off 10 overs for the West Indies Cricket Board’s President’s XI against the Sri Lankans in a three-day tour game that was ending Monday.
Collymore has played just one Test match for the West Indies, in 1999 against Australia, while Hinds returns after losing his place during last month’s series against Australia because of a lack of form.
West Indies will face Sri Lanka in a two-Test series, after losing the three-match ODI series 1-2 last week.

SQUAD: Brian Lara (captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan (vice-captain), Chris Gayle, Devon Smith, Wavell Hinds, Daren Ganga, Marlon Samuels, Ridley Jacobs, Carlton Baugh, Omari Banks, Vasbert Drakes, Mervyn Dillon, Corey Collymore, Jerome Taylor.
